How does this happen to a person who immediately after taking this picture with her phone thought, “now where’s my phone so I can Tumbl this”?
This is just a simple sample of what I call “αυτοδια΄λυςις” resp. self-defeat of a system as illustrated by some mechanic sculptures of the Swiss artist Jean Tinguely which were designed and programmed to disassemble/distroy themselves according to the principles they worked on.
The self-defeat principle relies on the likelyness that as system under special, uncommon and unfamiliar conditions does not realize, recognize and accept one of it’s parts, organs, subsystems as belonging to it and, depending on it’s possibilities to act, even refuses and fights it as threat.
In the case You report, Your conscious mind accepted the handy as a kind of part of Your body when taking the picture but not as such for sending the picture. You accepted - in that very moment - your handy cam as kind of Your eye - but not as an organ to mail it since lack of a corresponding organ to telecommunicate.

Wenn der Gauck zum Hit wird, sollte man sich vor einer möglichen Steigerung in jeder sich aus diesem Kalauer, verbunden mit korrekter Anwendung der Steigerung deutscher Eigenschaftsworte (vorausgesetzt, “Hit” wird als Deutsches Wort behandelt) unvermeidlich ergebenden Hinsicht hüten, wenn’s dann nicht bereits hoffnungslos zu spät sein wird.
Dass Gauck von Vielen als “politisch unerfahren” eingeschätzt wird macht ihn als erfahrenen Ideologen stählerner Freiheit nicht “politisch ungefährlich”.
Und für die Art “despotischen Charmes”, die der Mann mit virtuoser Unschuld versprüht, sind grosse Bevölkerungsteile überempfänglich, die mit der Kompliziertheit der Wirklichkeit, die in ihren alltäglichen simplen Gewohnheiten und Sentimentalitäten versteckt lauert wie der Teufel im Detail, nicht zu Gange kommen und davon ermüdet sind.
Das sind beinah optimale Bedingungen für das Brüten von Gedankengut, das den Inhalt Gauckscher Demokratie ausmachen soll.
